Field Trips & Enrichment Programs
At Little Antlers Childcare, we believe learning doesn’t stop at the classroom door. Children thrive when they are given opportunities to explore, move, and experience the world around them in meaningful, hands-on ways.
That’s why our childcare program in Helena, Montana includes weekly enrichment activities, off-site field trips, and special experiences designed to support physical development, social skills, and a lifelong love of learning.
Learning Beyond the Classroom at Little Antlers Childcare
Weekly Enrichment Adventures: Little Giants Time
Every Thursday morning from 9:00–10:00 am, children have the opportunity to participate in special enrichment activities, including Flying Giant Adventure Park and Sleeping Giant Bowling Alley (weather permitting).
This weekly outing provides:
A fun, engaging environment for physical activity
Opportunities for social interaction and teamwork
Movement-based play that supports coordination and confidence
- New experiences that encourage curiosity and independence
Parents are required to complete all applicable waiver and field trip permission forms and are always welcome to participate when appropriate.
Activity Fees: Some field trips and enrichment activities may require an additional fee. Please see the Director for current pricing and additional information.
A Well-Rounded Learning Experience
We believe education is most impactful when children are exposed to a variety of environments and experiences. Our childcare program takes great care to offer enrichment opportunities that go beyond routine schedules and classroom activities.
Throughout the year, children may participate in:
- Off-site educational field trips
- On-site presenters and special guests
- Seasonal activities that support curiosity and discovery
Enrichment activities give children the opportunity to experience new places, meet new people, and practice important social skills in a fun and supportive setting. These experiences help build confidence, independence, communication skills, and the ability to adapt to new environments.
All field trips and on-site enrichment experiences are posted in advance, and parents are encouraged to participate whenever possible.
Transportation & Safety
When transportation is required for off-site activities, Little Antlers Childcare contracts with Last Chance Tours Trolley. This ensures children are transported safely and responsibly, with proper planning and supervision in place for each trip.
Child safety, communication, and preparation remain a top priority for every field trip and special event.
Summer Field Trip Program
During the summer months, weekly field trips are scheduled to take advantage of the season and provide children with additional opportunities for exploration and fun.
Please note:
A summer field trip activity fee is required
The fee is due on or before the first summer field trip, typically during the second week of June
This fee is paid in advance for the entire summer
The summer activity fee is separate from regular tuition
Details regarding summer activities and schedules are shared ahead of time so families can plan accordingly.
Loving, Trained Caregivers
Our infant caregivers are trained in infant care, CPR/first aid, safe sleep practices, and early childhood development. Most importantly, they provide the warmth, patience, and emotional connection infants need to thrive.
Consistent Daily Routines
Predictable routines help infants feel secure. Each day includes balanced time for play, rest, feeding, and comforting rituals that support emotional regulation and well-being.
